The Kadoatery is a place where the kadaaties are kept. A Kadoatie is a petpet that greatly resemble cats.
The Kadoatery is really a game that you play and compete against other users in real time. Kadoatie owners (no not real players in Neopets) drop their Kadoaties in the Kadoatery when they go on vacation. The Kadoaties get lonely and want certain items to make them happy.
As of now, the only thing you can win are a bronz trophy for feeding one kadoatie, the silver trophie for feeding 10, the gold trophie for feeding 25, and an avatar for feeding 75!.
How to play:
The Kadoatery restocks every 30-45 minutes. It restocks on the minute. There are two restock times actually, one called the Main, the other Mini.
When the kadoaties that are fed disappear and new hungry kadoaties appear, this is called the Main. This is the best time to try to feed. The Mini only happens when an item is fed a few minutes before or after the main restock. Let's say the main restock went at :00, and then someone fed a a kadoatie at :15. That's 15 minutes after the main. Because it was fed at a different time than the rest of the Kadoaties, it will then have its own restock cycle. Usually, minis usually only consist of 1 or 2 Kadoaites although there have been cases when there were more. After a few cycles, the minis and main will eventually merge into one main restock time again.
You have to be quick about it. When you a kadoatie that is not feed, you need to decide if it is worth it. Some of the food that they ask for is very expensive. Down below I have a list of food that have been asked for previously. The best thing to do is to fill your items with food that they may ask for. If you have the food on hand already, you will have a chance to win. Otherwise you will need to do a quick search on the Shop Wizard and buy the item, but this loses precious seconds that you might need.
Why are kadoaties crying sometimes?
The neopets team will be home at 11:00 PM NST. At that time, they turn off the light and the kadoaties dislike the dark. So they cry. This does not affect the time they restock, is just an extra detail to the game.
